Saturday of Food, movies and A gadget

Saturday came and quite a lot had happened, but the highlight of the day was when my man happily rewarded something for himself for this Christmas. Originally, we were supposed to go to Mall of Asia, but since we had breakfast at Alpha Land, we instead decided to spend our day at Glorietta Makati.

Our breakfast, we both ordered the same thing, but for my drinks I chose Ice tea. Their hashbrown was sa makunat, for a breakfast item, this is not how it should have been. For our main dish, we always have our favorite longganisa meal.

Food review: Jollibee’s sweet and sour meatball 39ers

   Quick food review post..

I go to work riding an MRT every single day, and when I saw the billboard of Jollibee, offering the new 39ers sweet and sour meatballs, I knew I have to try it. Or maybe I’m just taken with advertising easily? LOL! But anyway, it was definitely worth it. BF and I met up for a dinner date a while ago. I ordered the new sweet and sour while he had the lumpiang shanghai 39ers.

I didn’t want to expect so much, but I’m actually surprised with this one. Of course, it wasn’t really the wow type, but the added crunch made it a little bit special IMHO. The sauce that came with it was good too. And again, BF kept asking for a bite, haha.

DSCN1983   Up close, you can see that it has a thin layer of breading, and it complimented well. The meat itself was just ordinary, but good. Definitely worth trying, even for seconds. The sauce tastes different from the shanghai though, just in case you’re wondering. I only wished they can serve meatballs ala carte with no rice (just in case you want more of the meatballs, like in my case. haha)

I definitely recommend this!  This is my 2nd favorite from the 39ers line.

J – Jollibee dinner date

BF and I had dinner tonight, was a little late so told him that I’ll be treating him for dinner instead. Decided to eat at Jollibee, I always (most of the time) end up ordering their Beef and mushroom 39ers, it’s cheap but good. I’m really glad Jollibee came up with their 39ers line.

DSCN0166      There were more pieces of mushrooms but I don’t really mind at all since I love mushroom and hey c’mon, what do expect for the price right? What’s important is that it taste good.

DSCN0170       BF’s order, plus a TLC burger. Wasn’t able to get a picture of the burger, but I’m pretty sure you have an idea already of what it looks like right?

DSCN0172       Definitely love Jollibee’s crispy fries, but we weren’t able to finish the fries we ordered.

     Total cost P242, including drinks.

Here’s a little something quirky that the BF and I took a picture of using his new DSiXL

Jollibee: Chicken Menudo

On to food, before heading for work, I was craving for Jollibee’s french fries, so I went to Robinsons Galleria to buy some food and snacks for work. Till I found a new product line which is the Chicken Menudo combo, the combination that goes with it is shanghai rolls with their sweet sauce. Here’s how it looks like

chicken menudo meal

Sorry for the image quality. Surprisingly, this was not a disappointment for me. It costs P65 ala cart. I hated Jollibee’s Chicken BBQ, it was that bad (for my taste okay?),  For the taste of chicken menudo, it was pretty good, not that great but good for a fast food joint. I definitely recommend this! Worth the P65 bucks!

My verdict: 3.8/5 spoons

By the way, I found a new foodie fave at Country style down our office,  sadly it’s only open from Mon-Fri. I was curious about their donuts, because usually I just order sandwiches from them. I tried their Nutty Caramel, though I forgot how much it was, I was in a hurry to get home, I bought wrap a dog and nutty caramel and total was around P60+ wasn’t able to take pictures, too hungry, haha. I’ll be buying some tomorrow morning and will post the picture. Man, it was love.  Will make a review about soon.
