Sunday and Saturday is all about Noms and other things~

This post isn’t entirely a new restaurant, but it is something that my sisters and I both grew eating to the old Greenbelt back then. Where it used to be along the Pancake house, dulcinea and in front of Max (fried chicken) House. Those were the good ol’ days.

  LUK YUEN…

Mom treated us to dinner yesterday, we used to do that a lot when we were younger, but these days are very rare. Good thing, there’s a near branch at Cash and Carry Mall.

I didn’t really pay attention to how much each of our orders were, the only item that I remember was the Wonton noodle soup for P150 or P170 (I think). For a table for 5, they gave us 2 small plates of appetizers which was addicting.

DSCN4285

I think these are fried wanton wraps, dusted with some kind of spice (yummy).

For our main dish, my sister Amanda and I ordered their wonton noodle soup, for the price and the serving, it was worth it. I remember back then, they use to have 3 pieces of wantons only, but now it has 5. 1 bowl will already fill you up good.

My mom ordered the Shrimp noodle something. The sauce was very light, and the shrimp was cooked perfectly!

My brother ordered the beef bento (sorry for blurry image, it was my sister who took the photo).

I think he liked this because he managed to finished everything, which is good since he is a growing “boy”.

DSCN4305

My little nephew tyler, said he wants siopao, mom ordered one order. He sat beside me and I also shared my wonton noodle soup with him.

DSCN4302

For our “appetizer” which came late, Amanda ordered the parchment wrap something. We were actually all hungry, that we didn’t bother asking what our order was. We just based it in the photos on the menu. She was rather disappointed, as she thought that it was shark’s fin. It was some kind of veggie wrap, which was okay. Mom liked it a lot.

Please excuse the forgotten names, for my appetizer I ordered this

It comes with a chili based sauce and the wonton’s were so good. It had some chopped chives (I think) which makes the wonton look and taste more interesting. We managed to finish everything and washed it all down with their Ice tea. Which slightly tastes different now. And why can’t they have it in bottomless?

Luk Yuen can be found at the ground floor of Cash and Carry, infront of Yellow Cab. It also has 2 floors and quite cold (which is good)

 Tips: No wifi :(

                                                    Can’t wait to try this~

As for Saturday, I was home alone with Tyler, I was getting really bored and lousy and decided to go out of the house to have some “fresh” air and have some ice cream with my nephew.

Speaking of android apps, this Saturday will be quite exciting as the KOMIKON event is nearing, which will be held at the Bayanihan Center Pioneer. The event will start at 10AM and I definitely will be there for 2 reasons. One, I will be going as a fan, I promised myself to buy me a copy of, One Night in Purgatory and have it signed by one of my favorite artists, Carlo Vergara. And reason number 2 is, I will be supporting my man, as his company KOMIKASI enterprises will be one of the exhibitors there.

If you have an android phone, you can try this game for free BETA version, just click the link here. It will direct you automatically in the page.

Being the GF, I was able to try this before hand, of course a few tweaks were still needed, but if I would have to pick my favorite between Starstruck and Kitchen Musical (also created by KOMIKASI), my favorite would be Starstruck. I haven’t tried the latest version yet, of course BF is keeping it a secret until the event.

By the way, in case one of you readers are a comics fan, tickets will be sold at the Bayanihan center for P100 only. If you plan to go to the event, do drop by our booth and say hi :)

A Cat lovers movie + Birthday dinner

Hello everyone, I wasn’t able to document of what happened during our movie date last weekend and during dinner with Martin’s family.

Well, first up, I asked Martin last Saturday to meet up with me at Alpha land, instead of picking me up at home. He already had a hunch why (haha). There was no special occasion really, but I just wanted to look extra special that day. So I headed to Bench fix salon and had my hair done (curly) priced at P350. I’m glad that my man liked it~

We went to Glorietta food choices to have lunch, we had the usual. It was a cat lovers day that time, we were meeting up with friends to watch Puss in Boots. All of us totaled 11.

The NYFD drink was not bad, bought a giant coke for P55 only

After the movie, I suddenly felt quite sick, I was coughing badly and a bad sore throat. For our dinner we ate at Subway and because I was feeling too sick, no pictures sorry. But definitely, we are going back there, their chocolate chip cookie is sooo yummy, only for P35.

So speaking of cookies and puss in boots, here’s my take…

A few days ago, it was Martin’s moms birthday, I was invited to have dinner with them, along with his best friend Jon at Greenbelt 2, Banana Leaf. This time, I was able to take pictures of us, but not the food. I know, super fail again! It was my first time to dine there, surprisingly the prices are not that bad. I didn’t know that you would literally eat on a banana leaf.

Pandan Ice tea P68 (not bottomless)

They ordered baby back ribs, mee goreng or nasi goreng rice, pandan chicken, fish with some kind of sweet bagoong sauce, shrimp with coconut milk.

Kanin Club

Here’s another back log post. The much talked about KANIN CLUB~

A few weeks ago my man invited me one night to have dinner with his family. It was his parents wedding anniversary post celebration.

I have been reading a lot about Kanin club, especially their sinangag na sinigang. They ordered, aligue rice, kare – kare, fish something and crispy dinuguan.

*Note, sorry my pictures don’t give justice. I had to take quick photos, as I don’t want to take time taking them when all of them were hungry. Besides, I was just a guest. hehe~

2011-10-25 20.53.11

We ate at the Ayala Triangle branch, even at night the place is still full.

DSCN4259

The Kare Kare, my Martin says that he had tasted a better version at Little Quiapo in BF Homes, the meat was rather tough but it still tasted okay for me.

DSCN4260

The Aligue rice, this was not bad. It was Martin’s sister who ordered this. All I can say is that it’s okay.

DSCN4262

The star of all seasons, the Sinangag na Sinigang rice, the presentation was nice and for one order it’s definitely good for sharing. Yes, this was ingenious, it tasted like sinigang. It’s not mind blowing, but it’s one of a kind! The crunchy veggie on top of my plate was so makunat, which is my only gripe about this particular dish.

DSCN4263

The Crispy dinuguan, the second star for me. I suppose we all had the same impressions about this dish. Though, I eat dinuguan, I was curious on how “crispy” it will be. My first bite was pure love! and sadly my man hates dinuguan, he’s missing out a lot. I said, “cmon babe, just one piece, and he said, okay, let’s compromise, I eat ONE PIECE, BUT! you have to ride, ONE RIDE OF ROLLER COASTER with me. Me: “Okay, forget eating the dinuguan then”

Anyway, this was another hit for me! It was so crispy! Will order this next time M and I eat here.

DSCN4261

Unfortunately, this dish was over shadowed, this was the only dish that I did not try.

It was M’s dad who paid for the dinner, so thank you tito. After dinner, we went our separate ways. The BF and I decided to take a stroll along Ayala Triangle, it was a romantic night that time~

Till then!

Can’t get enough of Blueberry Cheesecake

Hello Everyone! I finally was able to get my Blueberry Cheesecake from Captain’s Mix and Magic and it was a treat!

DSCN4292

DSCN4293

The cake sells for P450 (pretty affordable but so yummy). However, unlike others, this is only a 6 inch round cake enough for 10 slices.

DSCN4295

DSCN4301

I’ve tasted quite a lot of Blueberry Cheesecakes, and most of them has a creamy cake like consistency, which I always look for in this particular cake. For Captain Mix and Magic, I was a bit surprised that the consistency is somewhat like a “refrigerator cake”. Creamy, and what a cheesecake should taste like. Personally, I would prefer a cake like consistency. By far, this is my second favorite, because it is so light that I can’t stop getting more.

DSCN4298

DSCN4300

Overall, it was well worth my money spent! will definitely order next time.

Till then!
