Weekend foodtrip at A’veneto

Along with my date with M and S, we decided to eat at Avenetto for dinner. It was both S and I’s first time to dine out there. BF kept warning us that the servings are HUGE, but we or I didn’t pay attention to it. Here’s the food we ordered

DSCN2494

                                                Family Appetizer P300+

The platter consisted of sweet spicy chicken wings, crabsticks, potato balls, fries and the usual 2 dips of white and red sauce. The crabsticks and potato balls were the first to be wiped out in the platter. This is definitely worth ordering. The chicken was nice too, really crispy and not oily.

DSCN2491

I love anchovies and I was happy to see that they offer a slice of Howie (something) pizza for P90. It was so huge and I wasn’t even able to finish a slice. The anchovies were yummy, salty the way I like it.

DSCN2497

My friend S’s order, Carbonara, sorry no price available, but most probably not more than P200. I’d have to agree, their serving is definitely for sharing. I’m not a fan of white sauces too much, but when I tasted their version of carbonara, this sure was different to my palette. Different in a very good way. Next time, will ask M to bring me here. The bread was untouched though, didn’t look appealing.

M recommended that we get their best seller the oil based pasta, instead of shrimp, we went for hungarian sausage for P265

DSCN2499

Really good, worth ordering. It’s now the kind of wow thing, but it’s good. Next time I’m going for the shrimp which costs P300+

This pizza was called England something. M ordered a large one, this may look small but it was huge for a large sized pizza.

                                                                           After

Still a lot of food left. Before the pizza came, which came last, S and I thought there weren’t any food arriving anymore. There was enough on the table and when M said: “guys there’s still pizza ha?”  I said: “shit!” haha~ it was like we were drowning in food already. But the good thing is?

DSCN2503

Lot’s of take out to bring home. I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to make a more detailed review about this restaurant when it comes to prices, I’ll make another review next time when BF and I will eat here. But over all, it was a treat! and worth going back to. One thing though that I didn’t like about the SM Megamall branch, the doors were open and I find it warm inside. I hated it! Till our next food trip~

Food review: Day 2 at Carlos Pizza Tagaytay

For our lunch on our day 2 vacation, BF and I ate again at Carlos Pizza, I enjoyed my pasta and pizza, BF only loved their pizza. Here’s what we had

DSCN1325                             Calamari P200+ with 2 kinds of dip

I find it quite pricey, but it was really soft and the white dip, garlic something was really really good. It had a few pieces of calamari.

DSCN1328                                                        Bolognese

DSCN1335                                       Italian sausage pasta

BF had the bolognese (as usual), I had the italian pasta. My order was okay, a little bit spicy (just the way I like it), the sausages were good too. Nothing special but still good and worth trying. I forgot the prices though, but it both costs less than P190

DSCN1332                           Quattro formaggi  - with blue cheese L-O-V-E

DSCN1337                                               Abruzzi – all meat pizza

The quattro formaggi was to die for, maybe because I love blue cheese, the abruzzi was good too, we had left overs which we had as midnight snack that night.

    Overall…

I’d give the quattro 5/5 spoons. For drinks we had the usual bottomless ice tea. The first time we ate there with our friends (on our first day) our total bill cost us P2,100 (our orders were the same pizza, 2 calamari’s and 4 bottomless ice tea’s) they have service charge plus VAT sales.

For our lunch, it cost us around P1000+ something. As for the pasta, I’d give mine  3/5 spoons, I liked the pasta I ordered at Piadina better though.

Here are pictures of the place, the first photos were taken on day 1 night time, the rest are day 2photos for our lunch date.

DSCN1271    I really find the place romantic, specially at night with all the Christmas lights

DSCN1342   The name of the place is One plaza, which isn’t too hard to find along the road

Right after our lunch, we took a jeepney ride going to halfway zoo, will post about it tomorrow. By the way, there are branches of Carlos Pizza in the metro, they have one at SM Mall of Asia, I strongly recommend the quattro formaggi, that is if you are into blue cheese ;)

  Till my next post!

Food review: Piadina – dinner date

   Food review…

We were supposedly to try out the Lechon Pizza at Pizza hut, but sadly, it was out of stock and it was only around 8PM. It was disappointing, the waitress told us that it was their best seller, so we opted to go somewhere else. We found Piadina at the 2nd floor of Robinson’s Galleria. It wasn’t our first time to eat here, but it seems the better choice at that time. Here’s a look of the ambiance

It was an open space area, just wished it had comfy couches.

    Food we ordered:

For appetizer we had the Grissini – bread sticks with cheese dip

DSCN0493                                                                  P140

DSCN0495

DSCN0494                                                                   the dip

For this order, we both rated it 4/5 spoons. It was really good! the cheese was not overpowering nor the umay kind. It was M who chose this and we sure weren’t disappointed. The bread was crunchy, good for sharing.

DSCN0499                                 Pizza – Quattro Formagi P350

DSCN0498

M and I loved Joey Pepperoni’s quattro formagi and we had to compare it with Piadina. This is waay different, Piadina’s formagi was not cheddary, but the cheese was very light and creamy (creamy light). This was a winner for our taste, we both rated it 4.5/spoons. We weren’t able to finish it, so I had them wrapped which will be my food for work tonight.

DSCN0507

I didn’t like their chili oil though, it tasted like the kind they use on siomai’s, so I skipped the chili oil and ate it as is.

On to pasta…

DSCN0505                                                     San Giorgino P180

DSCN0497

This was my order, there are 3 kinds of pasta dishes; meat, veggies and seafood. Because I was craving for salad, I went with the veggie pasta. The servings was big. The San Giorgino had tomatoes, fresh sun dried tomatoes and mozzarella, really yummy. Maybe a hint of lemon or olive oil and a little more garlic would definitely make this even yummier, to have a contrast of taste so to speak. But regardless, I enjoyed my order.

DSCN0504                                                        Bolognese P200

M ordered this, it wasn’t in the menu but they said they can make one. Well, M is not into Italian pasta’s since it has a thin base. He likes a thick sauce (yung tipong kumakapit sa noodles), I don’t know how this tasted like, but he gave it a 2/5 spoons. That’s him, hehehe..

Lastly, we had bottomless ice tea’s, and I was really happy about it because it was always refilled and cold. But that’s because there were only a few diners that ate at that time.

DSCN0503                                                       Regular Ice tea P70

Here’s the chili oil I was talking about earlier

DSCN0486

Overall, the BF and I enjoyed our dinner, the pizza was good, the grisini and my veggie pasta. Total bill cost us P1,100~ we were definitely surprised, it was like we ate at a posh restaurant already (well almost). But it was because of the VAT.

My verdict: 4/5 spoons I definitely recommend the Grissini and the Formagi pizza.

Oh, and here’s a picture of us with my new hair cut, I just added some bangs and a simple layer

Till then!
