New: Chowking’s Lauriat fried rice

Hello everyone! For this post, this is something I know everyone knows already, but I still think it’s worth sharing. We’re all familiar with the Chinese fast food giant right? (Chowking) Well, this time they got “better” (improved in a good way and I hope this time it’s long term).

Last night, M and I met up for dinner before going to our friend’s place to have our “weekly” Friday gaming session. He recommended that we eat at Chowking again and try their sweet and sour pork, only to find out that they now have chinese fried rice with their lauriat. Service also has become a lot faster, and now the branch at Alpha land is 24hours. Martin say’s that it’s the same for all Chowking branches. Aside from the chinese fried rice, I noticed that their pansit tasted waaaay better (in other terms, pansit pa lang ulam na). The pansit was that good, and much bigger in serving portion.

In essence, there is nothing really spectacular about the fried rice, but it is something that M and I truly enjoyed. Lauriat got better with fried rice!

We also ordered wanton noodle soup, the cabbage gave the soup some added flavor and the siomai also tasted much more flavorful (or it could be just my taste buds, hehe)

For our money’s worth, (well, technically M’s money) we definitely are happy and full customers last night.

Chowking: Chinese Style fried chicken~

   Quick food review…

The night before the wedding, M and I met here in my place to have dinner, we didn’t really have a lot of choices and he asked me to choose where. I opted for Chowking because I’ve been meaning to try their Chinese style fried chicken for quite a while already. Also thinking that if they had free wifi, which unfortunately they didn’t (Chowking, Pasong Tamo). M had his usual Lauriat fish something, and even if he knows that I don’t and will never eat Buchi, he keeps on putting the Buchi on my plate.

I ordered the 1 pc. chicken and I chose Nai cha for my drink (photos were taken with my Samsung galaxy ace phone)~

First of all, I didn’t like the chicken part, I forgot to tell M which part I liked. It was a little bit salty and in my honest opinion, tasted like regular fried chicken which was almost a bit close to Jollibee’s chicken joy. The gravy was good though (not in the picture sorry). I think the price is well worth it, I got full without having to order anything extra. The portion size was quite big. The meal costs P79. Well, I am not expecting a lot, I’ll probably order this again but a different part this time.

What makes me addicted to Chowking is their Nai Cha, chicharap and Chao fan rice.

I put the puppies in my room that night, so that I can play with them. I think tabby is curious about them~

Random weekend date~

Hey everyone, this Sunday has got to be the perfect weather for me. Just home the whole day and it’s gloomy and rainy. My kind of weather, M hates it though. Anyway, yesterday I spent the whole day with my M at his place. One of our agenda’s is to have a movie marathon. So we watched Somewhere In Time (finally) and the first Xmen movie. We had breakfast at Jollibee and we tried their new flavored fries, four cheese.

It was nice, aside from their regular fries, we can now order flavored fries. Next time were trying the Sour cream. And as usual for breakfast we always have the longganisa meal. I love their longganisa, the Fat and thin breakfast sausage tastes similar to Jollibee’s longganisa.

covered in hot sauce - yum~

We just spent the whole day at his house watching movies and playing Mortal Kombat in his PS3. He asked me if he should play at his 100% best, of course being competitive I said hell yeah! hehe. I won the best of 3 using Scorpion (the one in yellow) 2-1.

The video is a bit bright and a little bit shaky. We asked their house helper (ate jol) to be our human tripod. hehe~ We just used M’s Itouch to video the game play.

After 2 movies and 5 rounds of Mortal Kombat (I think we finished past 5pm already), we had dinner at SM Bicutan at Chowking, I was craving for Nai Cha, but the branch at SMB didn’t have any. Pfft!  M loves their asado sauce, at first I wasn’t into it, but eventually liked it.

                                                                      The BF~

It’s just a random date really, we had no plans on going out, nor even watch a movie (the green lantern had poor reviews, so we didn’t attempt in watching it and waste money.) When I was still with my previous work, I rarely visit him in his house unlike before (we’re still working on getting our own place, which is why I’m doing my best to find a job again.)

What’s up with your weekend dear readers? Special mention to my friend J, HAPPEEEEE Belated Birthdaaaayyy~

         Till then!
