My love affair with Palettes

Quick post…

A humble collection of my palettes. I love them all!

Now with these palettes, I need to hoard on concealers and eye shadow primers! Of course available at my my favorite make-up store.

So many palettes, and I only have 2 pairs of eyes. Will play with my Sephora palette tomorrow which is my rest day.

What’s your favorite palette? Mine would have to be the NAKED because I’m crazy over Neutrals~

   Till then!

Beauty talk: Colossal mascara review

When I saw the colossal at the hyphen I couldn’t resist and it was perfect timing too since I was about to buy the Magnum which is the Philippine version of the Colossal. Which I find weird though, why not just supply the Colossal here in the phil since there’s a market for it.

Anyway, enough about my babbling and on to the review. Hyphen is selling it for P450 only. Oh and before I forget, if you  follow Lady E, you get to have a 10% discount for like FOREVER~ that’s how generous she is.

Kitty says….

The bristles are quite fat, and when applying it you have to be careful not to smudge your eye area, same goes for applying the lower lashes. I find the formula really light. Though my lashes does not look way close to their adverstisment, I have thin and short lashes just so you know. Results may vary.

   PROS:

  • light weight formula
  • LOVE-LOVE the volume it gives me
  • perfect for everyday
  • gives me a natural curled lashes look

   CONS:

  • not available locally
  • thick bristles

Well, I so love the colossal because of the volume, at least it’s promise of giving you volume stays true. It makes my lashes look longer. I took a picture as soon as I got to work, I didn’t retouch or rather re-curled my lashes. Only applied 1 coat. My only caveat about it, is the bristles, it’s too big that it’s hard to reach the small or thin lashes, specially in the lower lashes. Other than that, I simply love it!

I believe HYPHEN still has some stocks of the Colossal, if interested do order.

   Till then!

Beauty talk: Maybelline’s Color sensational in Soft Azallea review

I remember the brand FASIO waaay back, and I think they no longer have it at Rustan’s anymore (no idea why though). I loved  the red coral lipstick, after then I couldn’t find a red lipstick that I could wear, that is, until I found Maybelline’s Soft Azallea. Mom gave me this lippie a few months ago, after trying and loving it, I’m definitely buying one soon.

On my lips looks like a soft pink shade but more on the red (but not bloody red) on actual

  Here’s a swatch:

My thoughts about it?

   PROS:

  • Inexpensive
  • gives a matte finish
  • lasts me in about 3-6 hours (drank coffee and ate, still here as I’m typing at this moment)
  • as swatched in my palm it looks pinkish but when applied in my lips looks red.

    CONS:

  • I can’t seem to think of any – haha!

   My tip:

Normally, I first use lip balm, then put 1 layer of the soft azallea evenly in my lips. Right after, I blot it with tissue paper then re-apply 1 layer again. This way (in my case that is) it lasts longer.

And here’s me with my favorite lippie

DSCN1781                                             Definitely L-O-V-E this shade!

What’s your favorite red lipstick? I’m curious ^_^

Beauty talk: Maybelline impact express felt tip liner review

I’ve had my Maybelline impact express felt liner tip for 2 weeks already, so here’s my thoughts and experiences about this product. First up, pictures and swatches.

DSCN1587

DSCN1588                                      Retails for P399 but I got mine on sale for P279

  Swatches:

I wasn’t able to take a shot upon application due to bad lighting in my room. This swatch was taken after traveling and a few hours from work.

DSCN1585 DSCN1583

You can definitely notice the uneven lines, which basically means one, I still am not good with application of a liquid liner, since I’ve been using a pencil for the longest time. And two it wears off eventually

Sadly, I have more drawbacks for this product, good thing I got this on sale.
This product is not long lasting, and really needs to dry up at least for 2 minutes or else it would smudge, but most of the time I can’t wait for 2 minutes just to have my eye liner fully dry. You also don’t need a make-up remover for this since this is not long lasting. I’m not sure with normal to dry faced ladies though.

PROS:
  • perfect for creating a wing look
  • I love how easy it is to apply with the felt tip - i just need more practice
  • It accentuates the eyes – makes my eyes look  awake
  • Quite affordable - P399
CONS:
  • being oily faced, this does not last. At then end of the day, I end up having uneven lines
  • so NOT waterproof! – I don’t know if it’s me or what, some claim it’s smudge proof and long lasting,  but for me it’s not – sorry.
  • for first time users, it can be a little tricky on first application

   Overall…
I guess it’s a love and hate relationship with this liner, I’d still use this of course, since I need to practice more on liquid liners. It’s just really too bad that it’s not long wearing (for me that is). Of course, results vary on different skin types

What are your favorite eye liners that work for you?

  Till then!

Once again Lady E does it again

Just wanted to share what my friend E gave me for Christmas. The package arrived last week of Monday and I once again, was caught off guard with her gesture. Just so you know, I really really loved the gift E! I ripped the package as soon it was handed to me. Yes, I’m like a kid when opening gifts, at least I keep the card right? haha

Graduation picture + Maybelline's Angel fit and Color sensational

Graduation day is coming to a close, barely a few weeks left (15 days to be exact) and earlier this  morning I had my graduation picture taken. If I knew it would take that long for me to get it (2 months), I should have brought my usb with me so I can show it off to my mom, haha! Oh well, as for make-up well, it was O-kay, coverage was just medium coverage and they didn't even curl my lashes as well with everybody else, at the back of my head I wanted to ask if they could use what's inside my make-up bag, but was afraid that I might offend the make-up artist who is gay. You know how some of them are?! But it was no biggie, I think after looking at my shots I looked beautiful and proud to be a first college graduate in the family. For graduation, I'll ask my mom to call his friend to do my make-up and hairstyling, he's actually quite good and I really want to look so pretty on THE day! haha. This morning, I was sooo happy that my mom gave me new make-up, the Angel Fit liquid foundation in Shell Beige and a maybelline Lipstick in Soft Azallea. A new addition in my growing make-up bag, I already have the Angel fit foundation powder but I used a different powder to set the liquid foundation (I used my Shu Uemura), I have an oily skin so mid halfway morning my face was a bit shiny, I was too busy to even use my oil control film. But I like how it matches my skin color, I just wished I had my camera already so I can take pictures to compare differences.

It's been raining for a while and that's good, I hope it helped some places like Isabela, etc. Weekends are
L-O-V-E. Happy weekend everyone!
