A Princess for a day and the Stila palette

Happy weekend folks! I hope you’re all looking forward for the weekend as much as I am! For today’s post is my review / experience with Stila’s Glamour eyes mascara.

  What it claims:

“A mascara that instantly defines, amplifies, and intensifies to achieve the dramatic look of false lashes.”

The first day I tried it seemed to have a different result in the second time I applied the mascara. I currently have it on as we speak (technically speaking that is).

  •   Consistency is very wet
  •   Not waterproof

As you all know and may have noticed, I have very short / sparse lashes, which makes it hard to find a good mascara that would lengthen my lashes. So far, my favorite would still be the Maybelline cat eyes mascara.

I have mixed emotions about this, and here’s why.

This was the first time I tried it. My lashes looked really curled and long and loved it.

It looks weighed down today and I’m not sure why. I will be trying this again tomorrow for tomorrow’s date with my man and see if it would give me the same result today.

I also played with the palette, but my eye color is washed out with the lighting. I just used my phone camera to take a picture because my digi cam’s battery suddenly died. But anyway, here’s a simple FOTD using the first rowed shadows, lip/cheek color and the all over shimmer

The colors may not be as obvious, but the red carpet shadow was really pigmented. The cheek and lip color was good, though I liked it better on how it looked as a lip color because I don’t have smooth pores.

Definitely the lip color is my favorite among the palette

Me being a princess for a day, too bad my prince is at work  :(

People will always have to say something about how you look, but I believe that all of us are beautiful, whatever size you may be. The most beautiful part of a woman is her smile, so smile ladies~

Till then!

Preview: Stila Stunning Scarlet palette and Mascara

Hey there everyone! Good evening, I just got home from a date with my man and I still seem to be wide awake. Anyway, this morning something brightened up my day. I’ve recently been posting a lot of food and gadget posts lately, but for this post it’s something different… MAKE-UP! It’s been so long that I’ve posted anything about my favorite thing in the whole wide world!

I’m actually not sure what kind of event my mom attended to, but here’s some cool swag she got for me…

I’m actually done with my palette addiction, so I’m giving this one to my sister. I’m keeping the mascara though.

The first row of eye shadows has pretty colors though, and I got attracted to the all over shimmers name – Kitten!

Mini haul from my favorite store

Quick post… For the usual make-up post I made a mini haul

A girl can never have enough palette’s, I thought I would never own one but when my favorite make-up store made this available, I couldn’t resist. All the colors are so lovely and wearable. For the price it is so worth it!

I used the bag in the wedding since I couldn’t find my sister’s black purse.

Beauty talk: Clinique Chubby Stick

This is still in part of Lady E’s birthday bash at Clinique, the last agenda was a raffle prize, each lady gets to have a Chubby stick lip balm which Lady E will be paying with her own money, she’s that generous. I think  it’s coincidence that M  picked my paper for the raffle.
So here’s my detailed review of the new Clinque Chubby stick…

This was the lippie used during my make over session.  Costs P920 I think, available in 2 shades.

    Description says:
A super-nourishing tinted lip balm. What it does: This gorgeous lip color treats lips to mouthwatering moisture and a hint of soft shine. It never needs sharpening-simply swivel up to reveal more of the balm. What else you need to know: Allergy Tested. 100% Fragrance free.

     My thoughts about it…
The lip balm has a slight lipstick feel to it. I love colored lip balms and this one is definitely great for touch ups right after eating, specially when on dates. It simply looks natural and blends in the lips, giving it a slight hint of pink color. For moisturizing, I liked the moisturizing effect it has. The lip balm looks like an oversized crayon which I find cute.
      PROS:
  • it’s retractable
  • no need for sharpening
  • gives the right amount of hint of color
  • moisturizing

      CONS:
  • I can’t absolutely think of any, besides the whooping price – but hey it is a high end product XD

But given that the product is quite big, I think it can last for a month or so. Since you just only need 2 swipes max.

      Till then!

Event: Clinique - A future bride and her first time

I’m featuring my friend’s make over too, which I think is awesome. She’s the one responsible in making E’s cupcake.

J is a very busy person,  Lady E actually invited her but from what I know is that she declined due to her schedule, and when her Fiance’ texted me on the day of the event, asking what clothes should they wear I knew they would attend. YEY! Which is good too, so that M won’t be left out. When I was called to have my make-over I was surprised that she wanted to go with me and watch, I love that she’s game. So when it was her turn, I was with her, along with her fiance’ and M. Hmm, come to think of it, it was only J who was with me during my make-over (the boys – MB, M and E was busy having a short chit chat).

Before I proceed, let me tell you a few things about J. She has very sensitive skin and rarely wears make-up, and when she does, it’s only Maxfactor that she wears, since it’s the only (for now) brand that works for her. She’s adventurous enough to try Clinique despite her skin problem.

First, she had her skin consultation with Ms. Baby

DSCN2334

DSCN2335

She’s really thinking hard about the product, total price for the set was around P4000+, it is an investment.

These were the skin care products recommended for her skin type.

DSCN2336

My friend is still quite hesitant about it, and  the sample that they gave us is not enough to see actual results. We were only given a 3 step skin care sample, she asked if they had a sample of the anti blemish solution, too bad they didn’t but it was okay I guess.

After the skin consultation, on to make-up…

     Here’s a funny before picture

DSCN2351

We both had lack of sleep, actually all four of us had any sleep that day, and despite that, this lady had enough energy to be wacky and stuff.

      And the after…

By the way, if you remember my post about a one of a kind gaming proposal, they were featured in Rated K a few Sundays ago before Valentine’s.

Overall I think she had fun, but quite frankly still hesitant (she only wears make-up when required to). She experienced some itching after, but she’s not sure what caused it.

Event: Make over session at Clinique

Hello everyone, sorry for the delay, was busy with work and I’m sick again. Anyway, here’s my make-over session over at the Clinique counter during Lady E’s birthday party last Saturday.

When M and I arrived I thought the party was starting already, I saw the birthday girl having her make-up done. Right after she had a short talk, telling everyone what’s in store for the day. So she calls my name first to have my make-up done by Ms. Malou.

I was told she’s an expert in fixing eyebrows, and was happy she fixed mine.

      Products used in my face…

DSCN2329

For foundation, the Superfit foundie suited my skin type very well. I love it a lot, a bottle costs P1,700, but I say it’s worth the investment too. The benefits of the superfit foundation for a skin type 2:

  •   removes excess oil and perspiration and
  •   all day wear
  •   for skin type’s 234
  •   finish: Natural Matte
  •   coverage: Moderate to full
  •   oil free
  •   photo finish

I was advised to use a much lighter shade of foundation. We did a foundation test, I forgot the exact shade used on me (sorry) but it was a lighter shade than what I usually use. Reason why was because, my face turns red easily, and if I use the shade that actually matches my skin complexion, it would look darker on me. I was really overwhelmed with these information and glad that I now know.

DSCN2349

I love how she applied my eye shadow, too bad I didn’t take a photo of it.

Ms. Malou used the Chubby stick in watermelon for my lips. And here’s the final look.

This is really funny, E, was busy talking with other guests that time, so I told M, to have our picture taken together instead. Oh and little did I know, E was behind us all along. I seriously didn’t know, until I saw my camera. Until now, I still laugh about it. haha~

I definitely loved my make-over session, and the natural look she gave me. Now the only dilemma is, aside from investing on my skin care with Clinique products, is to also invest on their make-up line. I love LOVE L-O-V-E the superfit foundation and their brushes too. Their brushes were soft and dense enough~

So that caps of my make-over session. I really had fun and most importantly learned a lot. Thank you Ms. Malou for feedimg me with all the wonderful accurate information. I will definitely go back when I can~ Also thank you to my wonderful new found best friend Lady E.
